T&E Pumps prides ourselves on providing a good quality product at the fairest possible price. We build a pump that considers the user, the industry and the environment. Born of the days of drip pans and spills, it has a sealing system that when properly maintained, will not leak. It can also be recycled.
Oil Lubrication System
T&E Oil Lubrication System
The T&E Oil Lubrication System was specifically designed for use with our outboard pumps but it is also available on our standard pumps. The system uses 50 weight synthetic transmission fluid & air pressure to lubricate the pump instead of using grease. The outboard pumps must be run with the oiler as the gear case needs constant lubrication and due to the volume of lubricant required, greasing would be very challenging. It is also impossible to tell if the gear case is full. This is also a great option on our standard pumps for operations who have trouble getting pump operators to grease their pumps on a regular basis.
T&E Oil Lubrication Systems are included with all Outboard Pumps and gearcases and are optional on all other T&E Pump models. This eliminates greasing 4 of the 5 grease points therefore reducing maintenance.
Installation and Operation of Oiler System on Standard T&E Pumps:
Hook up oil lines from oil reservoir to pump
Hook up air line from truck to regulator
Fill oil reservoir with 50W Synthetic Transmission Oil
Adjust regulator up to 70-80 PSI and wait 10-15 seconds
Shut off air and release pressure from the reservoir through the filler valve. If air is purged correctly there should be no air bubbles in the oiler when the pressure is released
Repeat step 5, 3-4 more times
Set pressure @ 20 PSI
When Oiler System starts to use oil, gradually turn down air pressure until oil use stabilizes and call your local T&E Dealer to book in for regular maintenance. Pressure can be turned down as low as 10 PSI
Note: When filling oiler be sure you are always able to see the oil limit in the sight glass. The oil system will likely use 1-11/2 cups of oil monthly.
Installation and Operation of Oiler System on Outboard T&E Pumps:
1) Hook up oil lines from oil reservoir to pump
2) Hook up air line from truck to regulator
3) Fill oil reservoir with 50W Synthetic Transmission Oil
4) Loosen 1/8″ plug at the top of gearcase
5) Turn on air and adjust regulator to 10 psi with caution, wait for oil to come out of 1/8″ plug. During this step you are filling the gearcase, you will need to fill the oiler 2.5 times before this occurs. Wiggling plug to let air out might be required. Once you can see oil, tighten the plug back up
6) Close valve going to gearcase
7) Adjust regulator up to 70-80 PSI and wait 10-15 seconds
8) Shut off air and release pressure from the reservoir through the filler valve. If air is purged correctly there should be no air bubbles in the oiler when the pressure is released
9) Repeat step 8, 3-4 more times
10) Set pressure @ 20 PSI
11) When Oiler System starts to use oil, gradually turn down air pressure until oil use stabilizes and call your local T&E Dealer to book in for regular maintenance. Pressure can be turned down as low as 10 PSI
Note: When filling oiler be sure you are always able to see the oil limit in the sight glass. The oil system will typically use 1-1.5 cups of oil monthly.
